OUT AND ABOUT
- PAIGNTON
Families
love Paignton - flat level walks, in stark contrast to Torquay
which is built on a cliff, bring visitors right to the sea shore.
Long sandy beaches, colourful atmosphere, paddler-friendly waters
and first class attractions are the essential ingredients for
a magical family holiday. In the summer months, life revolves
around the sea front which comes alive to the sound of laughter
and holiday fun.
But
there is also another side to this distinctive seaside town which can be
found in the elegance of Oldway Mansion, the green coast line of Elberry
Cove and the architecture of Palace Avenue. At night, Paignton seafront
comes alive with illuminations and is perfect for an evening stroll.
There is a variety of entertainment and excellent food and drink
outlets.

Paignton
Harbour The
"Jewel in the Crown" of Paignton is located
at the southern end of Paignton Green and sands. It is
a local community area with cafes, restaurants, shops,
post office and of course the local pub. The quaint harbour
is a peaceful place to sit and relax. Have a chat and
take in the boating activities. See the fishing boats
landing or if you fancy being a little more adventurous,
try some D.I.Y. boating - hire your own boat. Pick up
a ferry trip across the bay or a cruise to the river Dart.
The Harbour is an "Olde World" part of Paignton
often missed - suitable for all ages.
